At Halstatt, Austria, the original Bronze Celtic Horse was discovered at a major Celtic archaeological dig site (ca 600 BC). The Horse's usage could have been as a child's toy, burial object for a warrior or child, but the most probably usage was as a temple offering. The Celts revered and worshiped horses! And, the cult of Epona (patroness of horses) spread throughout Western Europe. Depictions of horses were placed at the altar.
Celtic Horse Fragment Statue is made from lost wax bronze and measures 5.5"H x 2"W 1.75"L.
